First graders will begin to discuss what you can find (and cannot find) in a library. We will also continue to distinguish the difference between fiction (Everybody) and informational text (Easy Nonfiction) and where to locate these books in our library. Students will continue to learn proper keyboarding technique as they play Dance Mat Typing.
Students that signed up for a Bloomington Public Library Card through the district will receive their card during library this week. Please remember there a lot of amazing digital resources available to children with this card. Keyboarding:
First graders will continue to practice logging in and off of the computer this week, earning a sticker for their chart for each successful login/log off cycle. Please watch for these to be coming home in backpacks so you know when your child completed this important skill.
Elements of Fiction:What makes a book Fiction? First graders will learn the elements to look for this week during their library time. Login & Logoff Practice:First graders learned to login and logoff of the computer at the end of their kindergarten year. We will begin reviewing this important skill this week using the sticker charts below. Once a student fill his/her sticker chart, they will earn a sticker on their computer login card and they get to take their completed chart home!
